Today, Mexico’s Independence Day, the Cabo San Lucas area is recovering from a category 3 hurricane – the strongest to ever hit Los Cabos. Hurricane Odile made landfall Sunday night with wind speeds of 125 mph. Villa La Estancia, located on Medano Beach, was hit with the strong winds and crashing waves. According to the Villa La Estancia Cabo Facebook page, the resort incurred “minimal damage,” but cleanup is “fully underway.”
With another storm coming, relief flights have brought food, water and assistance to Los Cabos. According to the Washington Post, “Travelers are being flown free of charge to airports in Tijuana, Mazatlan, Guadalajara and Mexico City to catch connecting flights and, in the case of foreigners, receive consular assistance.”
La Estancia Vacations is here to answer any and all questions you may have regarding an upcoming vacation. We are receiving regular updates from the resort and will do everything we can to keep our guests informed and up to date.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected.
