San Jose Art Walk: Your Last Chance

Oh how time flies! We here at La Estancia Vacations can’t believe it is already May and already the end of the popular San Jose Art Walk. May is the last month of the weekly art walk until the season starts again in November. Yeah, that’s FIVE whole months you will have to wait if you don’t take advantage of the festivities now.

San Jose Art Walk
Every Thursday
5 – 9 p.m.
November – June

San Jose del Cabo is ripe with artistic talent. So, with just four Thursdays remaining, here are a few tips.

Fuel Up!

We like to start our Thursday art walks off with some delicious oyster creations at Mi Cocina’s brand new Baja Oyster Bar. A few oyster dishes shared amongst friends pairs perfectly with their delicious house specialty–the hibiscus martini. Baja Oyster Bar is also the perfect starting point for touring the art walk.

Visit the Visitors!

Upon leaving Baja Oyster Bar, head to the Plaza Mijares just a few steps away. That’s where you will find visiting artists set up and showing off their work. You really can’t create a more beautiful backdrop as the sun sets and the sky turns a deep blue behind the historic mission. All around Plaza Mijares you will find beautiful jewelry shops including Indara, Jonathon Sanchez and Eduardo Sanchez Jewelry and Handbags. These local designers certainly have that perfect Cabo memento.

Go to the Gallery District!

Okay, you’ve seen the visiting artists  and you’ve browsed the jewelry shops, now it’s time to head to the center of the San Jose Art Walk. It’s gallery after beautiful gallery here including Ivan Guadarrama, Frank Arnold, Casa Dahlia and Mata Ortiz Pottery Gallery.

Art is something different to everyone. Find the San Jose art gallery that speaks to you. Photos are courtesy of artcabo.com.
